Re: Baja Designs Squadron Sport vs. Rigid Duelly / D2

Nice! The output of the Sports is impressive for sure. I've got a buddy working on my switch plate idea currently. Giving up 1 of the cup holders in the floor console for a plate to mount my Ham Radio faceplate and 4 Carling rockers. He will be 3D Printing some test pieces this week. Planning on mac...

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread

Led a group of friends on the Turkey Creek Trail near Bumble Bee, AZ The Jeep JKU on 37s had the fuel pump go out near the end of the trail. So we found a trailer nearby to borrow, and I then towed them home. Did awesome squeezing through the tight spots and dragging that heavy pig of a Jeep and tra...

Re: Baja Designs Squadron Sport vs. Rigid Duelly / D2

Mine would not reliably run 1 pair without any fooler inline. It came on with KOEO, but once the engine was running and Alternator charging, it shut off. What did you wire up? A resistor as Reloaderguy explained above? How do you like the Squadrons? I've got the Diode Dynamics Canbus Anti-Flicker M...

Re: Power Wagon Picture Thread

That's on par for Colorado. Which trails did you run? Just Engineer Pass. Plus some dirt roads to get to camp Monday night. Been in Moab since then and did Long Canyon, Hidden Canyon Overlook, and Bartlett Overlook yesterday. Onion Creek, and Thompson Canyon plus a bunch of dirt roads east of the L...

Re: Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

How do they go about clearancing for turning? Or are they not made to turn while stuffing the suspension? Because I know with my 2" level which would put me right around that same height, maybe an inch less, that there is no way I'm clearing 37s while stuffed and turned without doing bodywork on th...

There is the link to the CanBus Anti-Flicker module. Needed if using factory fog light wiring with LEDs. As I mentioned, can't handle the 80 watts of power drawn with 2 pairs of Squadron Sports are on. But does great with 1 pair.

Re: Baja Designs Squadron Sport vs. Rigid Duelly / D2

I've had Rigids Duallys before and really liked the DOT Fogs. But I went BD Squadron Sports this time. 1 pair of spots and 1 pair of wide driving. I love the output and pattern. Need to do a better wiring job once I get my switch mount idea machined by a buddy. I've got the CanBus adapter that Baile...

Re: Show me your lightbars

I've got the Baja Designs Fog Light Brackets with 2 pairs of Squadron Sports (1 pair of Spots and 1 pair of Wide Cornering). I'm pleased with the light output, just the spots with stock headlights kept me comfortable at high speeds heading to Moab. The Squadron Pros have more than double the output ...

Re: Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

I think the 37s really look just right (maybe a hair big with stock springs). Glad I didn't do 35s. 40s would be crazy!

Well, except that my Rock Crawler is also on 37s. Kinda funny that all my tires are the same size currently. But I don't want to go bigger with stickies on Yota axles.

Re: Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

All stock suspension. It just barely touches the plastic at the rear of the wheel wells when turned mid way and bumps (pulling into driveway). And certainly limits steering angle with the getting into the swaybar/control arms.

Re: Tire? 35's v 37's & Nitto v Toyo

I went 37x12.5 Toyo RTs on my DD. About 2K so far, roughly lost less than 1 MPG, mostly city/small percentage of highway cruising. Braking was a little noticeable, but became the new normal quickly. Look awesome, glad I didn't short step a set of 35s in. Very pleased and would do it again.

Re: 18 mpg

I was pushing 18 coming back from Moab a couple months ago. Following a buddy towing a Long Travel Tacoma with his Chevy 1500, so lots of 65-70 taking it easy. Normally been 12s with lots of surface streets. I'd say I've lost less than 1 mpg since the 37s went on.

Re: will it fit

I just recently went to 37x12.5x17 Toyo RTs on the stock wheels. Rubs the sway bar/radius arm when turning, annoyance but isn't totally killing turning radius. I could barely get it any rubbing on plastic fender liners while flexing it out to test.

Re: Power Wagon vs. Rebel... Sibling rivalries???

The Power Wagon is really only a half ton. The Tacoma has a greater rated payload. Which is fine with me.... Half ton? Not quite. Just cause the payload rating is pathetic (for a 3/4 ton truck) dosnt mean its a half ton. I guess it depends on how you look at things... In my mind it is a truck with ...

Re: Splash guard/fang removal + more tire = sexy flexy

Is it just a matter of popping all the plastic circular clips to get the plastic valance/splash guard off? It glanced at it the other day after getting back from Moab (there might have been contact). But it was 110+ outside plus a 7 hour drive heat soaked engine in the vicinity, so I didn't look to ...
